About Reiki & My Services

Questions about what I offer and how it works.
What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese practice traditionally described as working with universal life-force energy. During a session, the practitioner uses gentle hands-on or hands-near techniques to create a quiet, supportive environment.

I think of Reiki as a way of creating space. It offers you dedicated time to pause, reduce outside distractions, and reconnect with yourself.

What services do you offer?

I currently offer:

  • In-person Reiki sessions
  • Remote Reiki sessions

I also offer additional resources for those interested in personal reflection and self-exploration:

  • Human Design PDF reports (available through my Etsy shop)
  • Healy Aura Scan and Resonance sessions (available through my Etsy shop)

Reiki is the heart of my practice. These additional resources are available for those who would like to explore different tools and perspectives alongside their personal wellness journey.

Do you offer Reiki training?

Not yet—but it’s something I’m actively planning.

My goal is to create a comprehensive Reiki practitioner training program that goes beyond learning hand positions and receiving attunements. In addition to learning Reiki, students will develop confidence through guided observation, mentored practice, professional communication, and real-world preparation before working independently with clients.

I’m taking my time developing a curriculum that reflects how I practice, so training is not available just yet.

When the program is ready, details will be shared here on my website and through my email newsletter.

My vision is to help practitioners feel confident not only in the Reiki they share, but also in creating a calm, welcoming experience for every client they serve.

How is Reiki different from massage or medical treatment?

Reiki is not massage, psychotherapy, or medical treatment. You remain fully clothed, and there is no manipulation of muscles or tissue.

Reiki does not diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions. It is a complementary practice intended to provide a calm, restorative setting for relaxation and personal reflection.

Do I need to believe in Reiki for a session to be meaningful?

No particular belief is required. You are welcome to understand the experience through whatever lens feels most comfortable to you.

Some people understand Reiki traditionally as energy work. Others experience it as quiet time, mindfulness, relaxation, or an opportunity to step away from daily distractions.

How do I know which service is right for me?

If you’re looking for relaxation, reflection, and dedicated time to reconnect with yourself, an in-person or remote Reiki session is the best place to begin.

Human Design PDF reports and Healy resources are available separately for those who wish to explore additional tools for personal insight and self-awareness. (Available through my Etsy Shop)

If you’re unsure which option is right for you, I’m always happy to help.

What to Expect

What happens during a session and what you may experience.
What can I expect during an in-person Reiki session?

We will begin with a brief conversation about what brought you in and anything you would like me to know.

You will then lie comfortably on a massage table while fully clothed. I will work with my hands gently placed on or held slightly above different areas of the body, depending on your comfort and preferences.

The room will be quiet and softly lit, with calming music. You do not need to talk during the session unless you would like to.

What happens during a remote Reiki session?

A remote session allows you to receive Reiki from your own space. Before the appointment, you will receive instructions for preparing a comfortable, interruption-free environment.

We may connect briefly before and after the session, depending on the format you select. During the Reiki portion, you can rest, sit quietly, meditate, or simply become still.

What might I feel during or after Reiki?

Every experience is different. You might notice warmth, coolness, tingling, heaviness, lightness, emotion, mental quiet, or a deep sense of relaxation. You may also notice very little during the session.

There is no correct way to experience Reiki, and having a subtle experience does not mean you did anything wrong.

How long is a session?

Session length depends on the service you book. Your booking page will show the exact amount of time reserved for each appointment.

Please allow a few additional minutes before and after an in-person session for arrival, conversation, and gathering your belongings.

Is Reiki safe?

Reiki is generally considered a gentle, non-invasive complementary practice. It does not involve medication, physical manipulation, or medical procedures.

Reiki should not replace care from a qualified healthcare professional. Please continue following the medical or mental health care plans recommended by your providers.

Preparing for Your Session

Simple ways to prepare for your experience.
How should I prepare for my Reiki session?

There is very little you need to do. Consider drinking water, eating a light meal beforehand, and allowing yourself enough travel time so you do not feel rushed.

You may arrive with a specific intention or simply come as you are. You do not need to clear your mind or reach a particular state before the session begins.

What should I wear?

Wear clean, comfortable clothing that allows you to relax. You will remain fully clothed throughout the Reiki session.

You may want to avoid restrictive clothing, large belts, or bulky jewelry. Shoes will be removed before getting onto the massage table.

Should I bring anything with me?

You do not need to bring any special supplies. You may bring a water bottle, journal, or personal item that helps you feel comfortable.

Please avoid bringing valuables or items that you cannot keep securely with your belongings.

What if I am late?

Please contact me as soon as you realize you may be late. Your session may still need to end at its originally scheduled time so the next client is not delayed.

Depending on how late you arrive, the appointment may need to be rescheduled and could be subject to the cancellation or no-show policy.

Scheduling & Policies

Booking, gift certificates, cancellations, and attendance.
How do I book a session?

Select the service you would like from the booking page, choose an available appointment, and complete the requested information.

You will receive an email confirmation with the appointment details and any instructions related to your service.

Visit the booking page.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes. Gift certificates may be purchased for select services and can be a thoughtful way to offer someone dedicated time for rest, reflection, or personal exploration.

Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash and must be used before their stated expiration date. Please contact me to purchase one.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Yes. Appointments may be rescheduled through the link in your confirmation email, provided the change is made at least 24 hours before your appointment.

Changes requested with less than 24 hours’ notice may be treated as a late cancellation.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice when cancelling an appointment.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the scheduled service price.

Emergencies and unexpected circumstances will be considered individually.

What happens if I miss my appointment?

An appointment is considered a no-show when the client does not attend and has not contacted me before the scheduled start time.

No-show appointments may be charged the full service price. A new payment or deposit may be required before another appointment can be scheduled.

What if I need to cancel because I am sick?

Please do not attend an in-person appointment if you are experiencing a fever, contagious illness, vomiting, or other symptoms that may place others at risk.

Contact me as soon as possible. Depending on the service and circumstances, we may be able to reschedule or change your appointment to a remote session.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment options and any required deposits will be shown during the online booking process.
